It’s always easier getting out of bed at 4am when you’re going on a trip! This trip was extra exciting because I was visiting one of my best friends who I hadn’t seen for 9 months!!
I was lucky enough to be allocated a window seat and see the sunrise from the sky, which was so beautiful.
Unfortunately when I got to London, the motorway was closed causing the bus to be an hour late. The bus journey then took nearly 2 hours because of extreme traffic! It was mad but I eventually arrived at the bus stop and met Alexandra! I dropped my bags off at her place and we headed to get some food (I was starving!).
We strolled around and decided to try Spaghetti House on Argyll Street. I got the Diavola pizza and my mouth is actually watering thinking of it haha!
We walked around Soho and Fashion Week was on at the time, so there were photographers everywhere! I had a very bright, floral umbrella that really stood out from all the black umbrellas on the street and one photographer took a picture of it! I really wish I knew how to find that photo 🙁
Alexandra knows me so well that she had planned a trip to some bakeries! First up was Primrose Bakery in Covent Garden, which was the cutest little bakery. Choosing which flavour to get was so hard but I ended up getting a classic vanilla cupcake.
We continued exploring, crossed the River Thames over to Southbank. On our way back over the Millennium Bridge, we saw the Floating Dreams exhibition. It took us a while to figure out if it was actually a real person on top of the exhibition… turns out it wasn’t! It is actually a Korean War memorial and a symbol of hope for the reunification of North and South Korea.
After a lot of walking, we went back to Alexandra’s and got ready to head to Cirque le Soir, a club different to any that I have experienced before!
When we got home I was greeted by a giant black spider next to me in the bed. To give you a realistic description, let’s just say the lights were off and I could see a huge black circle on the white duvet cover over me – I am actually going to have nightmares tonight over this. If you know me, you know that I have the biggest fear of spiders!
I jumped and fell straight out of the bed and of course the spider went missing!
We spent 1 hour (no joke) trying to find the spider because there was absolutely no way I was sleeping in that bed if the spider was not found!! In all of the madness, the bed even broke but we worked as a team to find the spider and fix the bed.. quite a productive night haha! Although I am sure the neighbours below were not too happy with our shenanigans!
And finally, after being up for almost 48 hours, it was time to get sleep.
Originally I planned on just doing one post about my weekend in London. However, it would have been such a long post so I have decided to split it! Stay tuned to hear about the rest of my adventures.
