Reflecting back on 20163 min read

Hello again!
I’ve been MIA on the blog these past few months but with the start of the new year, I decided it is finally time to write a new post! I thought it might be a good idea to look back at some of my highlights of 2016.

It was always going to be hard having moved back to Ireland and returning to college here from New York City! But I actually think living abroad for a few months helped me to fall back in love with my home country. Before moving away, I couldn’t wait to get out of here but now I’m really beginning to realise what a beautiful place it is.

I am halfway through the final year of my degree and honestly, I have never loved college as much! I am busier than ever, and I think that’s why I love it. I also get to study what I love this year, rather than having to focus on subjects I have no interest in.

In June, I finally turned 21! Can I just stay this age forever please?! I wasn’t 21 when I went to Vegas, so that’s a good enough excuse to go back, right?

After giving up soccer 6 years ago, I was missing it a lot. In September, I rejoined with my college and it feels so great to be playing again! I also prefer staying active this way so much more than going to the gym.

September was also the month I began my driving lessons. I put off starting them for so long, one day I just decided to bite the bullet and get started while I have some free time in college! I have 3 more to go and honestly I hate driving so much!! I just can’t wait to be finished with the lessons now!

During 2016, I was lucky enough to visit so many new places. The year began with a mini tour of Central Europe, where I visited Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest, all thanks to one of my best friends, Alexandra! In May, I went on a girls trip to L.A., San Diego and Las Vegas with my cousin, my two aunts and my mom. I wish we could redo it all over again! I also went to London for a weekend in September and finished off the year with another trip to Bratislava and Vienna to the Christmas markets.

As well as travelling abroad, I took a few trips around Ireland. I visited another best friend, Kelly, in Sligo and went to Kerry multiple times – which really is the nicest place ever when the weather is good.

My final highlight has to be Gilmore Girls, which is definitely my favourite show I watched in 2016. I began watching at the start of November and had all 7 seasons finished by the end of December. I have never watched a show so fast! Now to start watching A Year in the Life..

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a great 2016. I would love to hear some of your favourite memories from throughout the year 🙂
As always, thanks for reading!

P.S. I promise the wait for my next post won’t be as long as it was for this one!!
