We made it to Vegas!3 min read

Hi everyone!

After our brief visit to San Diego , it was time to hit the road to Las Vegas! We made a pitstop in Temecula to get lunch in a little Italian place called Campini’s, where I got a delicious PLT. Once we fuelled up our bodies, we were ready to resume our road trip!

.
After a long 5 hour drive, we finally made it to Vegas and checked into the Venetian. Sarah and I were dying to get to the pool because we hadn’t seen a whole lot of sun on the holiday but unfortunately we got to Vegas later than expected and we didn’t have time 🙁

.

.

Instead, we got ready and went to Mandalay Bay, where we had tickets to see Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil. This was my very first time at a Cirque show and it definitely didn’t disappoint. From the moment we entered the theatre,  I knew it was going to be such an incredible experience! They first took our photo on the red carpet and then we walked inside to find our seats and the next thing, there was a crowd of ‘paparazzi’ over shouting at us to take our photo – it was hilarious!!
.

.
The dancers were absolutely outstanding. The things that they could do blew my mind. Some of my favourite parts included shadow dancing, a 3D hologram of MJ and the neon lights. I found out that I knew a lot more MJ songs than I thought! There were only a small handful that I didn’t know!
.
Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take any photos but here is the trailer for it:

.
I would highly recommend going to it if you get the chance.

.
After the show, we made some purchases in the gift shop (I got another pin of course, to add to my collection!) and then we decided we would walk back to our hotel.
.
Now, if you have been to Vegas you will know that the strip is not a short little walk – especially when the Mandalay Bay and the Venetian are at completely opposite ends! Well..we found this out the hard way! The strip is very deceiving because something might look like it is right in front of you but as you walk towards it, you feel like it’s never getting any closer! We also did not realise that you cannot cross the road to get to the other side of the strip. Instead you have to go up a stairs, across a bridge, and back down the stairs! To make matters worse, my poor aunt and cousin were in heels!!
.
.
I got pretty excited when I saw New York! We had to take a little detour through the hotel! I never knew that so many of the hotels had different themes going on – it was so cool!
.

.

This was right by where I lived in NYC!
.
.
.
.
All in all it was a bit of an adventure getting back, but after about 3 miles we finally made it!
.
So.. life lessons in Vegas: wear comfortable shoes and realise places aren’t as close as you think!
.
But we had fun and it was a good way of exploring!

.

Have you been to Vegas before? What are your favourite things to do there?
.
Thanks for reading 🙂

I hate when you have to learn things the hard way by having your feet throb from an unexpected 3 mile walk haha. I hope you enjoyed yourself.
