I’ve always dreamed of living at The Plaza with a view overlooking Central Park (someday. . .). But so far, the closest I have come to that is by lunching there with friends. I actually didn’t know that there was a food hall open to the public. I always imagined The Plaza to be a real exclusive hotel, and not one that allows members of the public to enter without being a guest.

.
Funny story: the only reason we found out about the food hall was because we needed to find a restroom so we decided we would try to go inside The Plaza. We walked up the red carpet covered stairs, fixed our hair and much to our excitement we got inside without being questioned. However, little did we know at this time that everyone is welcome inside!!
.
Stepping inside brought me back to my childhood – Eloise at the Plaza, Home Alone, etc. It felt magical. There was a beautiful big chandelier on the ceiling and a big, bright Christmas tree in the lobby.

Downstairs we found another hidden world – the food hall, with little restaurants from all over the world. We chose to eat dessert at Vive la Crepe and wow, what a good choice that was. We sat down to watch the chefs make our crepes, and then enjoyed them whilst people watching.
.
We finished up and walked across the road to Central Park. It was such a beautiful day. We strolled around and sat down to enjoy the sun for a little bit. It was definitely hard to force myself to leave to go to class!
