Bike Ride to Central Park & Desserts at Serendipity 3 | 09.20.20152 min read

Central Park
On Sunday, my roommate, my two friends and I decided to cycle to Central Park. To be honest, I thought this was a crazy idea as I had not cycled in years and I also have never cycled on a road with traffic, especially not in New York City!

We rented Citi Bikes and brought them to a bike path near the Hudson River. As we cycled along the path, we saw some beautiful views of the city and of Jersey. The only bad thing about the Citi Bikes is that you have to return them ever thirty minutes and there were no stations along the bike path, meaning we had to go back in towards the city to return them.

We decided to just cycle on the roads with the traffic as it would save us time. This was definitely an experience! If you know anything about New York, you know that the taxi drivers are crazy, so cycling along with them was a scary experience but we are still here to tell the tale so that’s good!! Not to mention there are also some crazy cyclists!

Four hours later (this four hours includes a stop at a restaurant!) we arrived at Central Park, only to find the ice cream place we wanted to go to was closed. We googled some dessert places to go to, however it was 8pm and it was a Sunday so most places were closed. However, we found Serendipity 3. I had been to this restaurant in Miami and loved it, so I had to take my friends there.

Forbidden Broadway Sundae, Frozen Hot Chocolate and Cheesecake at Serendipity 3

We ordered three desserts – their famous Frozen Hot Chocolate, their cheesecake and their Forbidden Broadway Sundae. There are no words to describe how delicious these desserts were. They were absolutely huge but they were so good. We went home feeling very full that evening!
It was an exciting day and it is definitely something I will remember for years to come.
